Classical /
Qur’anic Arabic
العَرَبِيَّةُ الفُصْحَى
Our Classical / Qur’anic Arabic programme develops the linguistic foundations needed to engage more directly with the language of the Qur’an and the wider Classical Arabic tradition.
Learning is structured around essential Arabic grammar (Naḥw), morphology (Ṣarf), vocabulary and language analysis. These connected areas help learners move from recognising individual forms and patterns toward a clearer understanding of how Arabic carries meaning.
The curriculum draws upon the Arabic learning methodology of Bayyinah USA, with a strong emphasis on Arabic grammar and Qur’anic language studies.

اِسْم · حَرْف · فِعْلIntermediate
Approx. 15 hours of Ṣarf, followed by 9 modules totalling approximately 150 hours.
Ṣarf → Qur’anic applicationAdvanced
Approx. 120 hours of intensive advanced Naḥw and Ṣarf, with in-depth Qur’anic study.
Depth & precisionMaster
Bring the programme’s linguistic tools together through complete grammatical analysis of a sūrah.
Analysis & appreciationLearners begin by becoming familiar with Arabic’s three parts of speech — Ism, Ḥarf and Fi‘l. Ṣarf then introduces word patterns and the ways changes in structure influence meaning, before learners begin applying these concepts directly to Qur’anic Arabic.
Advanced study moves into deeper Naḥw and Ṣarf structures, supporting closer analysis and understanding of Qur’anic language. Learners also refine their ability to read advanced Arabic texts beyond the Qur’an, including material written without diacritical marks, and begin studying Arabic rhetoric and the language’s beauty, depth and expressive power.
